Hello! I’m Alisii.

I am the founder of Akin Psychology and a Clinical Psychologist based on the Gold Coast. I’m also a mother, wife, daughter, Pasifika woman, meditator (sometimes) and, of course, human.

Akin Psychology was created to acknowledge our shared similarities, those of emotion, connection, adversity, reflection, and growth - navigating the ebbs and flows of humanness.

In embracing the concept of 'akin,' I aim to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported on your unique journey of self-discovery and healing.

I consider myself a warm, approachable, and integrative Clinical Psychologist - blending evidence-based treatment modalities to ensure a tailored and person-centered approach to your care.

Therapeutic Frameworks

I draw on a variety of evidenced-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness practices, Schema Therapy, Chairwork, and attachment frameworks.

Goals of Therapy

The goals of therapy, while individual, are primarily to promote mental and emotional well-being, alleviate distressing symptoms, develop healthier coping skills, improve self-esteem, enhance relationships, and help individuals achieve their personal goals.
