Medicare

In order to claim a rebate under the Better Access Initiative (Medicare) you will need a referral from your General Practitioner. If you meet criteria your General Practitioner will complete a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) under the Better Access Initiative. This can provide access of up to ten subsidised Psychology sessions in one calendar year.

A report is required to be provided to your General Practitioner at session six and ten. This report contains general information, as well as recommendations for future care.

In order to claim the Medicare rebate for your sessions you will need to bring a copy of your MHCP or doctors referral to your first appointment. If you are unable to provide your referral, you will unfortunately not receive a Medicare rebate.

  • If you would prefer not to visit your General Practitioner for a referral or are not eligible under Medicare you can simply make an appointment.

  • If you have private health insurance you may be eligible to claim partial costs of the consultation fee. Please seek advice from your private health insurer.

Please note: You are unable to claim both Medicare and Private Health Insurance for each session.

  • We understand life can get busy, but its important to remain consistent in your treatment for optimal health outcomes. Due to limited availability, at least 48 hours notice is required if you wish to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

If you cancel within this time period you will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% the total fee. If you fail to arrive for your session (or cancel same day) you will be charged the full fee of the session.

This cancellation policy is in place so we have adequate time to rebook your appointment and offer available times to clients.

    Thank you for your understanding.
